Project Summary
The Laskin Road Gateway project has transformed the area surrounding 31st Street and the Oceanfront into an exciting people-gathering place featuring upscale shops, restaurants, hotels and residential buildings – all in a pedestrian-oriented setting.
The west end of the alignment included a new culvert and bulkhead system adjacent to the waterways. The soils in this area contained a significant organic deposit that required deep foundation and a “heavier” bulkhead design to accommodate the poor soil conditions.
